I hear they are terrible. They are also coming to replace my windshield tomorrow.

Kinja'd!!!

How much attention do they need? I’m seriously swamped and will probably only have time to show them where my car is.

Also how much room do I need. My work parking is really tight with no extra spaces. The only other place I could park is blocks away and even then I’m not guaranteed prime real estate.

Wonder how they are going to handle my dashcam.

I had them replace a windshield on my Saturn Outlook....and it leaked like a mother at the first rainstorm of the season. I did everything I was told (kept the tape on etc). The leak ruined nearly the entire electrical system in the car. It was a real joy to deal with them. NOT

I don’t know what to tell you other than good luck and if at all possible, be there for the install.

Used them a lot, I have had no issue one full windshield replaced and a lot of windshield cracks, I think it depends a lot on the management at the local shop

They make their own windshields and are usually lower quality than OE. However, they’d be fine for a repair

After Safelite replaced the driver’s side window on my Integra, they told me that it may stick/be slow to move up and down. They were right, and it’s been a mild annoyance ever since. It’s just something where they said it can’t really be helped—something tells me that shouldn’t be the case. Hopefully, you’ll have a better experience.

They did the windshield on my Jetta and my wife’s CR-V. Neither has had a leak since replacement. CR-V done in 2009 and VW done in 11 or 12. My guess is that it depends on the tech doing the job.

Never had an issue with them at my various shops, and when we had them come to fix a crack and they broke the windshield, they had a replacement windshield the next day at no cost; we’ve had them do everything from basic Kia Rios to Porsches and Range Rovers (not with the mesh electric defroster). Biggest thing is to leave the windshield to set in the adhesive as long as you can. Yes, you can drive it the same day, but try to wait a few days, or at least avoid bumps if you just have to drive it.

They repaired a few chips in my BMW’s windshield. They also replaced a windshield on a Grand Cherokee I had. Nothing but a good experience.

90% of people who had a bad experience will be super vocal, and 10% of people who had a good experience will tell about it unsolicited. Don’t trust online reviews when they’re overwhelmingly negative.

Their glass sucks. Mine lasted maybe a month.

We used Safelite to replace the windshield on our Grand Marquis. Had no problem whatsoever. Guy showed up a little early, had picture ID, and was pleasant to deal with. I’d use them again.

I used them to replace the windshield on the mustang and had no issues at all. I don’t know if it was just with my car but there was an option to replace the windshield with one that had the pony logo which is what the OEM windshield had and as it turns out i got an OEM windshield replacement. It cost another $100 but it was totally worth it especially after reading that their standard glass might not be the best.

The scratched the hell out of my roof and hood, scuffed my fenders, made a mess on my dashboard, didn’t put the new windshield all the way “down” so the trim doesn’t line up, didn’t put the trim on correctly, put my wipers on wrong (what a great surprise when it started to rain and they didn’t work), and refused to do anything about it for the 2 months I complained to them before giving up.

Not bad haha.

They broke the replacement before they put it on.
